Tour of Fort Queenscliff and Lunch at Queenscliff Bowling Club

As the RAE Association is an associate member of the Friends of Fort Queenscliff, the RAE Association has been invited for a tour of the Fort. Prior to the tour at 12.00 midday, a sit down lunch has been arranged at the Queenscliff Bowling Club, ajacent to the Fort, where you can purchase a meal and refreshments before the tour. No transport has been arranged but should you be interested in joining us please register at the following link: https://thq.fyi/se/_GYxHEo ID such as a Victorian drivers licence will be required to enter the Fort complex. Once again the RAE Association of Victoria is very pleased to present the Annual Muster, thanks to the very generous support of 22 ER and the CO. Subject of course to any restrictions. Who:              The Muster is for all sappers, serving, retired, Reserve or ARA their partners                       and friends. Timings:          1700hrs until 2300hrs (5.00 pm – 11.00 pm) Where:            Oakleigh Barracks mess and Drill Hall. When                 Saturday 28th February 2026 Dress:              Neat civilian attire Cost:               Same prices as last year                        $40 per head Association members,partners and any family members.                         $45 per head Non-members and any partners. Non-Meal tickets: $5.00:  We are pleased to offer attendance to those who want to attend but don't wish to avail themselves of a meal.   1. The Sir John Holland RAE Golf Day competing for the Evans-Zoller Trophy will be played on Monday, 20 October 2025 from 0730h at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. The Evans-Zoller Trophy is played for by RAE and allied forces' officers, the competition rules were amended for RAE and allied officers (described as eligible players in the attached brief) to invite a partner. Where there are Sappers/NCO's/WO wishing to play the 'organisers' will aim to match them up with an eligible player. ‘Our host for this day is CAPT (retd) Bill McAuley RAE. He extends the invitation to play. We are his guests for the day. He thus assumes responsibility for his guests behaviour throughout.’ a. Please read the attached Competition brief and email on RMGC etiquette. b. Please arrive at Royal Melbourne Golf Club no later than 0730h to organise teams. A brief to players will be conducted at 0730h sharp with an 0800h tee-off this year on the West Course. [Please note the allocation of a different course and earlier multi tee start this year.] c. Green fees are $180 and are to be paid in advance of the day to ensure your ticket and participation. In 2022 thru 2024 the RAE Association of VIC generously made available an account to provide options for payment in advance of the day, and I will be requesting the same for 2025.  MAJ Robert Cox will send out the link or instruction for payment when RSVPs are received.  A final account of full payment will be confirmed on the day prior to each player teeing-off at the first hole. d. Please read below regarding dress! e. Could I ask you all to please RSVP your attendance to the golf day to myself: Maj Robert Cox – robert.cox@defence.gov.au . If you have already partnered with another golfer please attach their golf handicap as well as yours (if you have one) to your RSVP. Please have all RSVPs to me as soon as possible. [The final list of players will be submitted Thur, 16 Oct 25.] f.  Markers will be provided at Par 4 Holes TBA for the ‘Longest Drive’ and Par 3 Holes TBA for the ‘Closest to Pin’ with further confirmation on the day. g. Presentations will be conducted shortly after conclusion of play and as soon as the scores are tallied in the Club House. Given the earlier start timing this year this is likely to occur at approximately 1330h. Non-players and RAE members who wish to join the team after the golf are highly encouraged. h. Sponsorship for Individual trophies and awards is currently under construction and members representing any confirmed sponsors are likely to be present on the day - TBA. Scorers. I do need some volunteer scorer/s to assist on the day – any help and confirmation most welcome.   Dress Etiquette Whilst playing: Refer to the Dress Code RMGC Dress protocols attached. (This stipulates smart casual, collared shirts tucked in, no denim and no logos and no cell phones.) Dress in the Club House: Notwithstanding RMGC policy, our host requests, that in order to uphold the dignity of the occasion and our respect for the late Lieutenant Colonel Sir John Holland, and the prestige of our Corps, a traditional jacket and tie must be worn in the Clubhouse at all times. Note that cell phones may not be used in the Clubhouse.

The Royal Australian Engineers Association has arranged for lunch at the Upwey-Belgrave RSL including a tour through their "Running Rabbits" museum for Serving and Association members and their families The lunch will be an A' la carte menu with the food and drinks at club prices. Please reserve your place for the lunch by indicating your intentions and booking your tickets.

The Royal Australian Engineers Association of Victoria are again holding our annual gathering for Christmas at the Croydon RSL. All Sappers, families and friends are welcome. Cost, free to attend. Nibbles/Finger food will be provided by the RAEAV Drinks, at bar prices. RSVP 4 December 2024
